It’s my privilege to represent the Mayor to give a speech on the Freedom Day Festival which organised by the Filipino Community Council of Victoria.
A great fun day with beautiful people and lovely colourful costumes.
This festival showed the generous nature of the Filipino people and their wonderful cultures.

Congratulation IERA on another successful Longevity Celebration event on zoom.
I’m very proud and grateful to our elders for their successful settlement and involvement in Australian life.
Their hard work and dedication to give us the opportunity to have a better life. They deserve our eternal respect.

Good bye 2021, a year of uncertainties and challenges.
Let’s welcome and look forward to a new and positive year 2022. Stay safe and work together for a better, healthier community.
Wishing you and your loved ones a very happy and prosperous New Year.

You or someone you know might have visited First Choice Allied Health at 269-271 Barkly Street, Footscray. It has quite a wide range of services like speech pathology, occupational therapy, psychology, podiatry, and massage therapy. I visited it with some fellow councillors and friends to learn more about its work.

There’s quite a story behind the Keilor Plains Police Station. Let me quote from the signage:
“A pioneer of prefabricated engineering, this hut was fabricated in Britain from cast, wrought and corrugated iron, shipped to Australia and assembled as part of the Keilor Plains Police Station in 1853.
During the gold rush, there was a severe labour shortage in Victoria paired with an increased need for protection of travellers and gold transports. The simple design provided the perfect solution for a new police force that needed to erect buildings with minimal labour and cost.
Many of the corrugated panels and other elements carry hand painted numerals, which would have assisted with the assembly. For decades the Police Hut was located at nearby Robertson’s Paddock. The hut was relocated by Brimbank City Council and the Keilor Historical Society. With support from the Victorian Government, the Police Hut was carefully reconstructed here beside Harrick’s Cottage.”

It’s a wonderful time to join AVA Christmas Carols with the specials guests from Federal, State and Local Governments and the Leaders of many associations at St Albans New Civic Centre.
AVA Christmas Carols 2021 event has brought the community back together to celebrate and share the harmony after a long covid-19 lockdown.

It’s a great experience Grassland tour with my fellow Councillors, Cr Papalia, Cr Borg and Cr Branton and Brimbank Staff.
Thanks to Council’s Environment Department and Brimbank Friends Groups who have carefully managed this beautiful Grassland.

Thank you to all Brimbank Councillors for your support on the Notice of Motion for the Family Violence at the August Council Meeting.
Family violence can cause physical and emotional harm to children and young people.
Children and young people need to grow up in a secure and nurturing environment.

It’s wonderful to attend the significant Brimbank’s NAIDOC Week flag raising ceremony today.
This year the NAIDOC Week theme is Heal Country that we celebrate our traditional Indigenous culture and heritage.
